AM Radio North East is the brain-child of Edward Dean, he founded the charity Anxious Minds in 2015 in the North East of England with his War pension after leaving the Armed Forces after 22 years service. Edward was on the NHS waiting list for over a year for his mental health issues and got no support.
This radio station is dedicated in raising awareness of mental health, to help educate and provide self-help tools to the people we serve, stemming from the CEO’s personal experiences with PTSD, anxiety and depression this gives us both a detailed understanding of the reality of mental health and a passionate desire to improve the situation.
Each week we will be joined by a special guest. AM Radio North East is intended to be a safe space to hear honest and open discussion about mental health in the hope listeners will feel more empowered to continue the conversation with others.
Covering many, many topics that influence mental health, we focus on identity and the sheer weight of being a human in our modern, technology-filled world. Learn about different conditions from first-hand experience, with statistics you can trust and inspiring guests. Mental health is something to be mindful of just as much as physical health, and AM Radio North East strives to let listeners know that they don’t have to do so alone.
Oh, and remember… you are enough!
